Merryn Tenalach is a Death Doula, Celebrant, Writer and Guardian of Soulton Long Barrow. She has journeyed through grief herself since meeting death at just four years old. Her present focus in the world is on supporting people to feel and freely express their grief with all the emotions that grief brings to the surface. Part of this work includes her holding grief cafes, grief ceremonies and laments as well as tending to grief on a 1:1 basis which she offers as a service online, in homes or on walks in nature. Her work is both as old as time itself and so very new and she is part of the movement to bring grief back into the community.

This journal was created to offer a reflective space for individuals to explore their own grief and the emotions that surface alongside it through journalling, letter writing and art. There is space for all within the pages. The journalling pages are prompted with the same four prompts for each day and there is space roughly each 30 days to create. There is no right way to fill these pages. They offer an invitation for free expression.

There are poems and quotes included within these pages some from Merryn's clients, poems written by Merryn herself and poems by people she loves to read.

This journal is for you if you are feeling drawn to put pen or pencil to paper and gift yourself the time to process your grief. This is not about taking your grief away or 'making it better;. There is no recovery from grief. To grieve is a gift, a deep connection to love and whilst it can feel heavy and our hearts are left wide open, to grieve is to be human.
